I have lots to say about the ride and those who came forward in 2017 admitting to have driven Johnny & Dana home that Saturday night. They lied & withheld information in 1981 & the reason they claim to have done so makes no sense. But for now, here are a couple of files which make things even more questionable. The first is a FB post from Dmac claiming the name of xxbartender who rode the boys home is in this report, that PCSO were aware of this information in 1981 & buried the report because they were corrupt. Dmac had redacted the names from the report. Next to it you will see the original report without the redactions. Obviously, xxbartenders name is nowhere in this report. It was manipulated to make people believe PCSO "buried evidence". . Original:

Are these the documents that Josh Hancock was allowed to copy during his research trips to the PCSO? I've seen such images circulated on various websites. Sometimes they are cropped and appear to have been altered which takes away from the original document. It is truly amazing just how much information from the PCSO is out in the public domain, and yet the case is still unsolved.

Weird, so this is the only time ever Joey's name needed to be protected? He's been named for years as a driver of John and Dana. Maybe he was or wasn't the last, but his I.D was never a secret.

Oh, if that's what this brouhaha is all about, it's exactly what I thought: A pinhead's attempt to make it seem Dmac's hiding the truth! OMG how STUPID! And LA-A-A-A-A-A-ME!
How is this a mystery? Dmac's already gone public with the info on this! Sounds like another disingenuous try to discredit someone by the above "author" and 'Admin'.
DMac's already posted the reports re: the last ride, and it wasn't Joey! With all the times LE screwed up how to spell Joey's name, he thought they were talking about Jaramillo, not this mythical Carillo.
That's pretty weak tea for such a vile accusation, Hope.
Sad and NOT Funny, and you should be ashamed. You do take pride in your sanctimonious hypocrisy though...

Dmac is aware Carrillo was a PCSO member. And that the name Cathy & Joey are attributed to the story of Joey riding the boys home. It appears to be an attempt to remove the actual names within that file and make people believe Cruzita came forward in 1981. That is sad. If it was a mistake it was not corrected, but rather left up for people to read & believe was proof of corruption. The point is don't believe everything you read without seeing it with your own eyes.
Here are the attachments transcribed, so guests can read what they say:
The original report, without the redactions, actually reads:
Cathy is not Kathy Beckley's waitress friend aka xxx bartender. Cathy S. was around 14 years old at the time and was Joey's girlfriend. This report was in reference to the statements of Carl S, Pete T, and Cathy S. Joey Carvalho had told Cathy he was the one who rode Johnny & Dana home that night. He denied this when questioned by PCSO. He and Cathy were interviewed together at the HS. During this interview, Cathy originally stuck by her claim until Joey made her back down, telling her she was confused.
Bottom line, PSCO did not hide who rode the boys home for 30 years. Kathy Beckley & CJ are the ones who hid this information for 35+ years. Both were interviewed in 1981 & neither told PCSO about the ride home.
Pat & Dan Dorris told LE that J&D had left for Kathy Beckley's to get a ride back to Keddie. When questioned Kathy denied riding them home, she even went as far as to tell them she had heard it was Donna Williams who rode the boys home. Every news article pleaded for anyone with information to come forward. How the boys got home was one of the biggest mysteries of the case & PCSO had no choice but to wonder if they caught a bad ride home that night. Had these women come forward in 1981 the "bad ride home" could have been eliminated & the investigation focused elsewhere. Not to mention a 12 year old girl was missing and possibly still alive at that time.

Nice work Hope! Your analysis of the Carillo and Cathy S. statements clarifies the issue. As a fairly new researcher of this case, I have found many discrepancies such as this one. Again, if someone has the actual report, then why not just scan the entire document? Why all this cut and paste nonsense? And why the vile negativity towards the PCSO? From the original reports regarding the first officers on the crime scene, they took appropriate actions. Sheriff Thomas knew his office was limited in its compacity to process the crime scene and he requested the DOJ's assistance. The DOJ sent special agents who assisted in the interviews, etc. The theory that PCSO and DOJ conspired together to cover-up a triple homicide and abduction to protect a down-on-his-luck low-level scam artist and unemployed cook who may have dealt pot or coke is ridiculous. Sacramento DOJ special agents are not going to risk their careers to protect small-time Plumas County guys trying to survive by occasional petty crime.
Who gave the boys a ride home on the night of 4-11 is important. We need to know everyone's statements and compare them. Dana and Johnny were making numerous trips from the gas station and park, etc. Why?

Great job Hope! I'm with you Cam there are so many discrepancies just like this report - bottom line is what are we to believe? Cruzita was not known in 1981 as being the person who took the boys home because she didn't tell LE in 1981. We've also been told that Mike ran across her name in the files and called Kathy Beckley? If I had to guess I'd say Mike probably called Kathy Beckley asking about the ride and she finally broke and told him Cruzita was the ride giver.
Next is that Marty and Sue were seeing each other according to......Cruzita??
We've listened for years to how LE moved a chest out of the boys closet only to find out dmac was looking at a picture of the girls closet.
Crim and Bradley intentionally ruined the recorded interview of Ricky - yet dmac has posted that very interview?
The killers brought medical tape to 28 but Ricky said they had tape like that in their house?
Sue was out strolling for company but she sent Tina to the Avery's house to get Greg?
I could go on and on but everyone knows all of this. And Cam you are right why in the world would the DOJ, PCSO, ME, FBI, risk their careers to cover for Marty Smartt and Bo Boubede??? Ain't nobody on this earth that could convince me that happened in this case - too many files and too many leads being followed up on. What Greg Hagwood allowed Mike Gamberg to do to this case is sickening.

And yeah i feel the folk behind this latest narrative should answer for it. They are either lying in which case they are obstructing justice now, or they obstructed justice for 40 f*ing years by withholding critical information which authorities were very specifically and publicly pleading for. Argh.

Yes, that entire situation very much bothers me. And to be completely honest, I feel their story was taken at face value because it fit the prevailing theory perfectly. It eliminated the bad ride scenerio or the boys running into someone else on their way home. They told exactly what wanted to be heard - it was dark at cabin 28 when she dropped j&d off at home, only a small light one inside. I think they should have been asked some questions.
Why did they not come forward sooner? They're explanation for that deserves some scrutiny. Supposedly, it was to hide Kathy's relationship with Dana. Yet, it was only the ride Kathy lied about. LE knew j&d were at her house that evening, she didn't deny that part. But in 81 she specifically denied riding them home, said they told her they would hitchhike and even told LE she had heard Donna W was the one who rode them home. Not to mention LE already knew about her affair with Dana and according to reports she wasn't worried about keeping secrets any other time - showing up in the halls of the HS to approach Alyssa.

Am i understanding correctly that the person who says she delivered the boys to Keddie is the same person who said Marty and Sue were having an affair?
All i've heard abt the latter is that Marty scared her b/c he was so possessive of Sue. Which i can confidently say was true of most of the men in her bar, i'm very familiar with the tactical difficulties this presented to young men approaching women in bars. Was Marty extra super possessive? Did he make a spectacle of his self which others might have noticed? DID anyone else notice?
I'm just really baffled about what it is that gives Gamberg, Hagwood, and Metcalf the confidence to say this publicly. It's absolute bombshell information in a long-dormant cold case. All this time later and all the energy expended we're supposed to be content with "oh, it was a love triangle thing"? Not me. Not without supporting evidence or corroboration from someone else who knew Sue personally. I don't believe a word of it. I don't even know when she'd have time for an affair. And if it is not true or even maybe not true then it is an absolutely disrespectful place to leave the investigation. It's practically the inverse of justice for Sue, to have her name sullied in "solving" her murder.

Yes, same person! I don't believe it for a second either. And it boggles my mind that it was so openly accepted. It doesn't appear there was an attempt to corroborate this affair story she told. Its amazing she was the only person who was aware Sue & Marty were having this blatant affair. I believe it's likely she was confusing Sue with Marilyn. Let me add something to "The Affair" thread that goes over it all.
EDIT to ADD: I have a lot of files attached to this write up so I will probably have to post it over several posts
