I’m gonna put this to you all (and I’m most likely wrong) I have been thinking was Dana actually hit with the hammer or just the 880 BB Rifle we know there rectangular bruising on the side of his head which suggest it could be from the of the rifle There are also some semi circle marks which suggest the hammer was used but could it be the barrel of the riffle I’m not sure what the radius is of the wounds and if it even match the barrel size wise The fracture on the right side of the skull andthe back of his skull could’ve also came from the edge of the butt at different angles

While the bruising on his eye could come from a fist he had a slit lip (reportly up to his nose) and broken teeth these could’ve also come from being hit with the butt there was also a rectangular bruise on Dana’s butt this could’ve come from the butt of the riffle when he was on his stomach to stop his from moving/attempting to get up

I think the first diagram of injury could be caused by being hit with a hammer in a side swipe fashion. This got me thinking about a truly sick individual, Christine Schürrer, who traveled from Greece to Sweden to brutally murdered two children she'd never met. She attacked them and their mother with a hammer, leaving some similar looking wounds. FYI this is a great read Abstract -https://jjcweb.jjay.cuny.edu/npetraco/pubs/Impression_Evidence_Chapter_2016r.pdf "This paper is aimed at interpretation of transfer stains from blunt ended tools that are often used in homicide as ‘weapon available at that particular moment’. Experiments have been undertaken to study transfer stains produced by a blunt ended object (hammer in this case). It still remains a challenge for forensic pathologists to analyze wounds created by blunt ended object. This paper aims at providing an essential guide towards proper reconstruction of a crime scene where an individual has suffered blunt force trauma. Weapon transfer stain under certain circumstances could particularly contribute to sequencing of events at a crime scene. Keywords: Blunt force trauma, Bloodstain Pattern Analysis, Hammer, Transfer Stain, Head hit, crime scene"
The introduction relates Locards principal, which is something we've all discussed and agree with, even if we didn't know the name, glad I find it, mad credit due!
