These are the closest thing I could find to the boots Dana was wearing (shown in the first pic) these are called Waffle Stompers due to the the print they leave in the dirt not because of the Print on the sole themselves they are also the same brand (“Vibram”) i also bring this up as wasn’t they’re a waffle style print at the back door I’m wondering whether this was made by Dana earlier that day or eve that night does anyone know Dana’s shoe size I believe their is a photo of the print but I was unable to find it

That shoe print looks more like a tennis shoe. Any idea of the size?

Small, Tom pointed out it's a 6 inch ruler, and it looks like there's some slippage. Best guess is a woman's size 4ish, Kids 11-12 maybe?

I remember the talk of boot prints out back. It was discussed on the old forums & something Nina M used to say. Im not sure if there was ever anything posted to back the claim up. It's hard to know what was rumor from back then vs files that maybe once existed but no longer do.
But check this out. From part 1 of Plumas News' 2018 article:
Dana?? Do you think the bottom of that vibram boot Mew posted looks like the bloody boot prints in the crime scene photos? I do not know what size shoe Dana wore.
According to shoe measurement charts, 7-7.5 inches is in the lower end of 6-10 age range. That sneaker print looks like the sole of Adidas Superstars, which I used to love : )

I think you could be right Hope I didn’t think to check the crime scene photos to match the boot prints theres at least one that looks like it could be a match to those boots on the cushion where Dana’s head was placed this may mean the cushion was already on the floor and not placed specifically for Dana’s head to rest on (or Marty, Bo and Marilyn’s befit according to Dmac) this theory however doesn’t account for the blood under the cushion unless it’s came from the blood from Dana’s injuries making it’s way under the cushion (I’m not sure if blood oozes through carpet) If the boot print is Dana’s this again adds to the theory Dana wasn’t killed first

I’ve only just noticed the tear in the left should of Dana’s top Not sure if this is something discussed or not but do you guys think it was made during the murders or a previous tear

Good question, I wonder if LE thought to ask Dana's associates if that tear to his sweater and the rips in his Levi's were there prior to the murders. If the boot print is Dana’s this again adds to the theory Dana wasn’t killed first Absolutely! A couple of things you & Cam mentioned in another thread: - Evidence Item #17, blood on the carpet, reacted to B type blood. This blood stain was located underneath Sue.
- Blood stain #17, blood on the couch, could Dana have been at this location at some point? The couch cushion.
- Photos show darker blood stains associated with more blood loss/several sections of removed carpet show the blood had not seeped down to the floor underneath.
This is Forcino's list of evidence items collected during Dana's autopsy: " Bag contains blood soaked pants and rt boot. Blood group and check for fibers or hair"It seems likely it was Dana who had stepped in blood, which would be a huge revelation and help figure out the sequence of events. I had a similar thought regarding the couch/cushion. If Sue was found on top of Dana's blood, Dana had been bleeding, in that location before Sue was there. Could the cushion have come off the couch during a struggle? Or when Dana came to & was attempting to get up/away? We know his tape bindings were broken and this may be when the electrical wires came into play. Or the cushion was already on the floor, as previously mentioned. The cigarette pack sitting on the section of couch with the missing cushion, as if someone set them there after removing the cushion. The ashtray didn't have any cigarette butts from the boys, suggesting they weren't home long enough to have a cigarette. I wonder what type of blood was identified on Sue's feet? We know they tested it because that is also noted in Forcino's Autopsy Evidence Report. Could it be Dana's blood? Always assumed it was Johnny's but maybe she didn't make it that far? Also, whose blood was on the couch? Lots to discuss here, including things that could tie into previous thoughts.

There appears to be a blood stain on the front lower middle of the couch thats always intrigued me. In another photo it looks like blood smears down the couch and then across the carpet.

It's long been "suggested" that it's Johnny's blood on the bottom of Sue's feet but we have never seen that in any report - and we know by now they know whose blood it was.
