Yes good point.! There's several other things that show they searched the basement . The early news footage/photos from that morning show the basement door is open (no red paint yet?). Crim also mentions the basement in his interview with Ricky, Crim knew what it looked like so he had been down there (although I don't believe crim & Bradley appeared on scene until 4/13).

I feel like there are evidence sheets, like the one above, missing. There's some items talked about which never made it onto this list. Just noticed the date on the dress entry, Bradley found it on 4-18-81.
