share.crimedoor.com/videos/J6R1g1wsaUjVbbu0QSZJI'm liking that Paul Holes is analyzing the wounds, blood to try to determine movement during the crime. He does get Johns height and weight wrong. Something else, he says an offender would see Dana as the biggest threat of the three victims. Dana was bigger and older than John, but IMO this would only be true with someone unfamiliar with the boys. And that may well be true, I don't know for sure. What I do know is that John was the "scrapper" of the two. However...it was Dana who broke free, at that moment, he would have been the greatest threat. I really appreciate how he "sequences information" based on injuries, injuries which I think were minimized in the past by others. I think it's pretty apparent these people had the s**t beat out of them, and I'm glad to see Mr. Holes highlight this. He finishes by saying that whatever prompted these murders, the treatment of Sue and Tina had a sexual component. All in all, this was a pretty good break down of the case, however I would have liked him to talk more about the electrical cords and the couch cushion on the floor. There were plenty of cords in the living room, including an extension cord that wouldn't even need to be cut, so why did they come from the girls room? The couch cushion (and now I'm seeing the couch as well) had gashes in it. And it was lying on top of a large area of blood. These are some tough questions I'd like to see an expert speculate on.

Thanks for sharing this! Super insightful. Could listen to him talk all day. Haven't finished the video, but it is beyond refreshing to hear an expert focus on the scene, autopsy report and his experience. This is what this case needs. A fresh start, forget everything we think we know. Everything. Every little thing needs revisited. IMO, in our opinion, not just mine, none of what is out there is true. NONE of the prevailing theory is true. We've all been introduced to this case because of the internet. We all come into it with preconceived biases because of what we've already read or heard. We need to ignore that.
Not going to lie, it's kinda vindicating to hear Paul Holes taking the evidence & crucial reports and envisioning the same things we have been. The autopsy report does state the tape to Dana's wrists was a large "conglomerate", a large loop "that in reality had been present about both wrists". The tape of his ankles was broken. This suggests he likely broke free. The electrical cords are a sign of escalation, likely introduced after Dana broke his tape bindings. The electrical cord tying Johnny & Dana together by the ankle was more than likely an immobilization technique, not staging. Dana got up once - the bottom of his boot had blood on it- they weren't risking it again. And perhaps by this time Sue & Tina were sadly in the mix. We've envisioned the moment Dana broke free as perhaps the moment Sue became alarmed something being very wrong and walking into the scene. Tina as well perhaps.
If you think about it and yourself in both Johnny/Dana and Sue's positions, I think that explains the quietness that's so hard for us all to believe. Johnny & Dana were bound without putting up a struggle. It's very possible they didn't realize the severity of threat at that time and believed they would be ok in the end. You're not going to want to alert your mom & younger siblings to the situation. You're going to hopefully talk your way out of it and not introduce them to the danger. Hopefully tomorrow you have a good story for your friends and your mom's none the wiser.
With Sue, any mother will tell you, even if you realize the gravity of the situation, you're going to do everything in your power to keep your children safe. Sue & Tina shared a bedroom. Anything Sue was alerted to, Tina would have been as well. I don't even want to think beyond that.
I would like to know more about the electrical cords. We know the lamp cord from the girls bedroom was utilized. But do we know that's where all the cords came from? It doesn't change things for me either way since the cords represent escalation. Using the series of events we've envisioned:
Dana breaks his tape bindings. Perhaps let's out that scream at 1:15 - according to witnesses that *scream was from a male*
This alters Sue. Now they have Dana & Sue. Tape to sue. Gag. Electrical cords are introduced.
Now what if Tina walked out the same time or immediately after sue? Usher Tina back in the bedroom, grab those cords. I've even wondered if Tina tried to climb out the window at that explains the cardboard on the bed. Justin told LE he saw it propped against the wall that night. Keep Tina in that bedroom, tell her to grab some clothes. That could explain the clothes on the beds and closet light on. Get TF out of there, take her with you. She was a little girl, you're likely going to comply and not scream your head off. Especially if it's someone you know and they're talking you down. You just woke up. Who TF can comprehend any of that, especially at 12. It's awful, freaking awful to think about.
ETA: wanted to revisit the blood on Sue's feet. I think our thoughts on that have changed since last discussion.

He also played with a single offender theory and we've visited that before. But the cords...and maybe other rummaging in other rooms, makes me think at least one person stayed in the living room while some one went through the girls room, maybe bathroom as well.

Found this in a "note to self", I probably already posted. But now I'm thinking I know why it grabbed my attention, wasn't it a "brakeman for the railroad who would have been in Keddie alot" that brought Paul Holes to Keddie? He was looking at some guy for the East Area Rapist/Golden State Killer case. ""Seabolt also told us of a guy who lives at # 7 Keddie and works for the railroad and drives a '79 or '80 Toyota truck who has not been around for a couple of weeks. Seabolt does not know the guy's name.". I posted this elsewhere and for the life of me don't recall why. But seeing it again made me pop over here to see who lived in 7, Roy L? as transcribed, but can't make out the original list Doug A also brought up Roy to LE, saying he resembled one of the composites. He worked for Western Pacific as a brakeman."
