Bet you thought I was going to bring up Dana's missing diabetes kit? But no. Sue Sharps sister had the family staying with her awhile more than once. Before moving to Keddie Aunt Jackie took the whole gang of em in. In one of Josh's documentary outtakes, Jackie describes Tina being medicated for ADHD. Jackie insisted to Sue that Tina wasn't hyperactive and weened her off the meds. If Sue had Tina medicated, why not John? Aggressive, fearless, and impulsive I'd think John would be the better candidate for behavioral meds. I can remember kids being prescribed Ritalin and, no joke, straight up amphetamine. The kids I knew hated taking their meds, if you actually have ADHD these prescriptions make a person lethargic. So they'd sell their pills at school to people looking for uppers. I'm in the speculation thread for good reason lol, if John was also prescribed meds, he could pass them off to people looking for black beauties....just a thought. Which brings me to Justin, why wouldn't Marilyn have tried dosing him? We've heard he was a disturbed boy with behavioral problems and Marilyn did pass him off a few times. Passing him off was easy, giving him pills would have been just as easy. Also besides picking on his younger brother and some odd act outs after the murder, we just have Marilyn and Nina alluding to Justin's problems, how real/serious was it actually?

Good points made by snoho17!
The only reason I can come with for why Marilyn did not medicate her troubled son was due to money. No health insurance, no medication. Justin had only been in Keddie for a few months. She probably had yet to get around to his medical and dental treatments. Besides, she was too busy chasing after 19-year-old Wade Meeks. I find her to be a very neglectful parent. After all, where was Casey on the night of April 11, 1981? Poor Justin and Casey. Keddie was a bad place for kids.
I saw the title of this thread and thought it would be about Boubede's phenobarbitals. I always wondered if Justin had stolen a few and dropped them into the milk carton at the Sharp house to dose the boys so they slept through the night of April 11. I find it hard to believe that all three boys stayed asleep when Sheila screamed at the front door. That door shares a wall with their bedroom. Perhaps Sheila didn't scream as Zonita Seabolt and others have later reported. Also, wouldn't those boys have been waking up earlier to go to school? I know the murders occurred during Easter Break, but there is the possibility that their little body clocks would have been accustomed to waking at 7 a.m. or earlier, especially to allow for Sue to drive them all to their schools in Quincy.

this was 1981 before ADHD and ritilin. Reality check: Jackie was full of shit, too. She knew Sue was trash, and simply didn't want to know about that squad of black sheep.
The only talk of Tina on any meds is this one vague, off the cuff line of garbage, and you built it into a battleship of ifs and maybes. WTG.

In 1932, German doctors Franz Kramer and Hans Pollnow described a condition called hyperkinetic disease. methylphenidate is the stimulant doctors most often prescribe for children with ADHD. It was first made in 1944, and marketed in 1954 as Ritalin. At first, it was used to treat conditions such as chronic fatigue and depression. But it worked best to improve symptoms of ADHD. ADHD was not included in the American Psychiatric Association’s "Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders" (DSM) until its second edition in 1968. Then, it identified the condition as hyperkinetic reaction of childhood. In the third edition, released in 1980, the APA renamed the condition attention deficit disorder (ADD) and created two variations: ADD with hyperactivity and ADD without hyperactivity. Edit: Forgot to ADD forgot to add that I believe the swiss manufacturer discontinued ritalin in 2020, I only recall because I did other work but recall the release they made about the discontinuation by Novartis.

Here's my problem with this, I must've went to one of the wilder school systems:) phenobarbital was another medication that I specifically remember being passed around/sold as something else. I remember it specifically because of all the kids that wound up in the ER getting their stomachs pumped after taking it. I personally "babysat" two and took one in, which is how we found out the pills were being misrepresented. To this day I won't take an aspirin that doesn't come from my own bottle. How so many of us made it to adult hood...I'll never known but always be thankful for!

All I have to say to this is Jackie was Tina's aunt & had no reason to lie. She would know whether or not Tina was prescribed medication, what did she pull the story from her ass? I don't think so. Thanks Snoho for posting actual facts regarding ADHD medication & treatment. I knew many kids growing up in the early 80s whom were prescribed medication for hyperactivity. WTG snoho
