Sheriff Doug Thomas' files, in the order they were uploaded to keddie28. Interestingly, DT's resignation took effect July 20, 1981, however, the last report is dated June 12, 1981. It appears an entire month of his reports are missing or were not uploaded.

Thanks Hope for posting these and thanks Liz for making these available to the public. I was pretty certain that DT investigated this case by chasing down all leads but actually seeing these files just confirms it.

I agree. Sheriff Thomas knew his office's limitations in homicide investigation and he called in the DOJ right away. He questioned Keddie residents and worked his way outward towards friends of the victims. He followed up local reports of suspicious guys, and after the suspect sketches were released, he chased down those tips. All these reports discredit the online theory that Sheriff Thomas was corrupt and failed in the investigation.
